Chapter 1: Introduction

Welcome to our tutorial on how to add inline editing support to your extension.

Who is this tutorial for?

Well, it is mainly for third-party developers who want to add inline editing to their extensions or someone who is not a developer and just wants to give it a go, adding inline editing to their favourite extension.

It is possible for both groups to come out with the instructions and the knowledge to achieve the goal of providing inline editing for components. One reason for this is because it is not a necessity to have to modify the component, if you want inline editing support, directly. However, some knowledge of PHP and the Joomla Framework will still be required.

Okay, so let’s start.
