How to create a new article and link it to a menu on the frontend?

  1. Log into your site with your username and password.
  2. If you are using the Ark Editor you can next click on the “Inline toolbar” and click on the ‘NEW’ button which will lead you to the Submit a New Article screen.
  1. Here you can add your title to your article in the text field labelled title. Add images to your document. You can select previously uploaded pictures or upload your own images. Add page breaks, read more tags, metadata, publishing states and dates just as you can if you were creating an article in the backend of Joomla! After you have created your article click on the’ Save’ button to save the article. This will save the article and keep you in the same editing screen.
  1. Next click on the ‘Add Menu’ button (as seen above). This will activate an off canvas to pop out from the left (as seen below). This has all the menu parameters you would expect to find on the backend administration for Joomla, including views for Single Article, Category Blog and Category List.

    Next:

    1. Add your 'Menu Item Title',

    2. Selected the 'Menu Type',

    3. Selected the 'Menu Location' ,

    4. and Save.

This will then create a new menu item called “Blog” which is now located on the Main Menu.
