Steps to replicate the issue
1. write a text (for example "Testdocument Link" 2. select the text you have written 3. klick on icon "Document Insert/Edit" then, the window with the document-manager will open 4. choin a PDF document (doubleclick) 5. set modal lightbox to yes 6. set target to "blank" 7. set title: "Dies ist ein Test" 8. click on insert-button the window with the document-manager is still open. no next actions from the editor. 9. close the manager widow (click on "close") the field for text in joomla is empty - nothing to see... 10. change the view on source then i see this code: Testdokument Link 11. change to design view - i see nothing when i insert this without "modal lightbox", then it will work. i like ark editor and i will eg. buy the pro version - but at the moment with this issue, i can not work with this editor still this link is not work. thank you for your help.

Hi Matrix,

Thank you for your ticket and for the very helpful & detailed replication steps. We're are sorry to hear that you are experiencing problems with inserting documents. It sounds like there may be a Javascript error on the page that is causing issues.

If you could add your site's details we will happily log in and investigate the issue for you. To do this go to 'Client Area' > 'Edit Account Details', then 'Site Details', where you can fill in your site details.

Hi Matrix,

Thank you for adding the site details. On investigation, there are a couple of issues going on here. The 1st issue to do with the Ark Media window not closing is because of a javascript error with the Ark Editor, I will pass a note on to the Ark Editor team to look into this for you.

Secondly, when the link is inserted it disappears because there is a CSS rule in your template's version of Bootstrap.css file which is telling "modal" links to hide. See the attached screenshot for what the rule is and where it is being set in your template. This is something out of the control of the Ark Editor so will need investigating by yourself/the template club.

With regards to other sites, you can either update the "Site Details" to the new information once this issue is resolved or put the extra site details in the "Optional Information" text box.

i have received the answer from themler:

Please check bootstrap Modal feature:
The element with class "modal" is hidden by default. This is a feature of bootstrap, not Themler.

Thank you,

And now? - what can we do?

Dear Olivia,

If you look at the distrubtion version of Bootstrap that gets shipped out of the box for both the legacy version 2.3.2 and the latest version 3.3.6

The css on line 5199  in bootstrap 2.3.2 for bootstrap.css

.modal {
  position: fixed;
  top: 10%;
  left: 50%;
  z-index: 1050;
  width: 560px;
  margin-left: -280px;
  background-color: #ffffff;
  border: 1px solid #999;
  border: 1px solid rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.3);
  *border: 1px solid #999;
  -webkit-border-radius: 6px;
     -moz-border-radius: 6px;
          border-radius: 6px;
  outline: none;
  -webkit-box-shadow: 0 3px 7px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.3);
     -moz-box-shadow: 0 3px 7px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.3);
          box-shadow: 0 3px 7px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.3);
  -webkit-background-clip: padding-box;
     -moz-background-clip: padding-box;
          background-clip: padding-box;

line 5872 in bootstrap 3.3.6:

.modal {
  position: fixed;
  top: 0;
  right: 0;
  bottom: 0;
  left: 0;
  z-index: 1050;
  display: none;
  overflow: hidden;
  -webkit-overflow-scrolling: touch;
  outline: 0;

So I don't see where they are getting this display none rule.  You can even download the bootstrap distributed package and check the css files for yourself here:

Kindest Regards,
