This is the site i want show at the joomladays so i am a bit in trouble if this does not work...

After the update with the rezize sum stuff went bad.

He is trying to resize the image at insert.
This is absolutly not what i wanted! Only on upload.
Now he is changing some images even if i disable the option.

So i need support at some weird bugs after the image resizer before joomladays that start tomorrow.

After downgrading to 1.7.8 it works again.
I really think it is something with the resizer.

I tried on an other site where it was working with 1.8.1.
I disabled the resizer and it did not work anymore.

So to be clear please do not resize or do anything on insert. This is really confusing.
On upload was wat i ment with this feature

Here a nice plugin to integrate at the upload field:

The Auto Image Resize plugin is an editor specific feature and it auto resizes images that are inserted into the media whether they do it through drag and drop or through Joomla Media Manager or the Ark Media Manager. It has to work for all cases to cater for all users. Not all users will have the Ark Media Manger, and not all will use the Drag and drop feature as they may prefer to upload they images to a specific folder in which they can select.

At the point where the user uploads a large image, it does not matter because at that moment no one else is affected. It is at the point of insertion of the large image that it becomes an issue. This is when it can destroy your carefully planned article layout because the image is too big. However, the other main issue becomes apparent when trying to view that page in a browser.  Because we have to wait for ages for that web page to download to our browser, especially on a mobile device, all because someone inserted a big image into that article.

Also the feature is not on by default because you have to enable it, And if you do not want all image to be resized you can configure this feature to only work if the user adds a class for example the class name could be 'resize'.

This feature as with other features can be enabled or disabled. And repeating what I said above it, you can add a filtering by adding the requirement for the user to have to add a specific class name.

We will be adding a tutorial next week on how the use this feature.

It is what is said, an auto image resizer. It auto resizes images inserted into the editor.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your reply.

Tommorrow morning i am on the Joomladays and are giving a presenation about your media manager and it is not working well so i am in a hurry to fix this!
Please help me or it is not good for your and my name at my presenatation ;-)

There is still the problem that i can't insert an image in the inline editing...
I have this on multiple site's with the new update.
How can i find this bug?
If you login to the website bosbeweging.nl at my account details and test it it is working if you update ark you can test it that it is not working anymore.

I think this feature is really difficult for people to understand. And i thought it would be more usefull in mediamanager on the upload.
But i never use the drag and drop feature because it is not mapping the images.
Now i do not understand on what moment he is resizing and it does not work with adding it in to my content.

Hi guys,

To bad it did not worked out before the Joomladays.
I now could not show the resizer because even on a fresh installed joomla it does not work well.
If i set the resizer at 1440 px widht resize and i insert an image of 20px it is blown up to 1440 even if the resizer was enabled on a fresh installation with protostar...
I needed to downgrade to show it without bugs, and allot of people where interested in the resizer that i could not demonstrate.
I could not get it to work on 4 site's so this is really a nasty bug that needs to be repaird very fast if you ask me.

This is to bad if you ask me.

There where people who where very enthousiastic so i hope people will buy it :-)

Hi Joris.

Thanks for your reply.

We are sorry that this issue was not fixed in time for your presentation but we are working on this and it should be fixed in the next version of the editor, version 1.8.2 which we are currently testing. We will update you when this version is released.

Kindest Regards,

Louisa

Hi Louisa,

Thank you so much!
Now only on the intro image selection it does not resize.
Is that correct?

I think this is an important place because i cant edit at this location :-)

Good day

You're welcome Joris smiley

The Image resize feature in 1.8.2 will now in all cases only work if this feature is enabled and you are doing it from an editor instance. So if you are not inserting the image into the editor then it will not apply.

Kindest Regards,

Louisa

Hi Louisa,

That is fast :-)

Selecting intro image is with the media manager.
There is still not any option to resize image in this select image view.
And i still do not understand why you put it in the editor.
It must be in the media manger if you ask me... Another reason to buy the media manager :-P
On upload and maybe on selecting a popup with: "this image is bigger than your default setting. You want to resize it before inserting?
And with Options it would be fantastic: Intro (700 width), full (900 width)"
This one is managing the media.

Than there is ofcourse the drag and drop.

This could be an own resizer like now :-)

Can you follow me?

Hi Joris,

Thank you for your reply.

The intro image is a very different thing. Really all we are doing is allowing our users to use the Ark Media Manager over Joomla's stock media manager which is passing a link (not an image) to Joomla’s intro text field. Because of this, the best current solution would be to use something like this: http://extensions.joomla.org/extension/resize-image-on-the-fly-and-cache

I hope this helps.

Kindest Regards,

Louisa

Hi Louisa,

Thanks again for hearing my out and reacting again :-)

Sorry i know i am a bit difficult for you guys so i hope you see this as feedback and not personal :-D

Here is the workflow i now need to tell my customers for adding an image intro.
1. Go to an article (does not matter wicht one)
2. Click on insert image (no your not going to add a image here)
3. Upload an image and resize it
4. Close this article without saving
4. Go to article you want to add the intro image
5. Select the image you just created and resized.

Option 1,2,3,4 are painfull for me to tell my customers because its just not right and not user friendly.
Resize an image for intro joomla article is not possible for somebody without knowing this weird workflow.

Editing images must be possible in Component backend media manager and in the select image field (my personal opinion and allot joomla users told this issue)
So i want to know if this something that will work in the future or not.
If not i need to know so i can put some more people on wordpress who needs this :-)

Kind Regards,
Joris Stolker

Hi Joris,

Thank you for your reply, we appreciate your feedback.

We have accepted your Feature Request. We can bring the edit screen back when selecting an intro image and we can perhaps set it up as a default crop but there are going to be some parameters in the edit screen that won't be passed through as no HTML stuff will be pulled through.

Kindest Regards,

Louisa
