We have tested this and are unable to reproduce the issue.
If you are not using the latest version of the editor, updating it might resolve the problem. Also, you need to make sure that you don't have any spaces in your folder names.
Please let us know if none of this is the issue.

The folder you selected doesn't contain a sub folder or there are no documents. This is the issue.

Technically the document plugin should not be showing any images at all it should only show document types such as PDF and DOCX files. It is a bug that it is showing images at all. We do have the image plugin that sole purpose is for images.
