Hi Yberges,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but we’ve had a few discussions on the best way forward with supporting your request. It’s a philosophical question because in reality it’s not just about a few weeks or so development time but about adopting a long term plan or partnership with FLEXIcontent.

Let me explain! With the JCK Editor we developed a few plugins to support the AllVideos plugin by JoomlaWorks which allowed users to upload files insert there tags on the fly. It worked beautifully until JoomlaWorks changed how it worked. This happened again and again and so on… and again also with their Simple Image gallery plugin. In the end we dropped both of them after receiving complaints and because the line of communication wasn’t good.

The point I am trying to make is that there will need to be a long term commitment and investment from both parties if FLEXIcontent would like to extend its inline capabilities. If FLEXIcontent would like to adopt the ARK Editor we will adopt FLEXIcontent and do all we can to support you. As I understand it JoomlaWorks has a plan to bring inline editing to K2 so such partnership could benefit us both.

If this is something you are happy to do, we would:

  • Carefully document how our inline framework works and how 3rd party extensions such as FLEXIcontent can interact with it. This will be essential as some changes may need to happen to the extra FLEXIcontent fields so your developers will need to know what it expected,
  • Setup a special free partnership subscription on our site so you will always be able to get the latest software and priority support from us,
  • A formal commitment to test FLEXIcontent with our Editor.

We look forwared to your reply.

Kindest regards,

Paul Franklin
