If i want to put a p-element before a single <img /> element, ark-editor removes the p-element after saving the article. (So if you save the article the second time, the p-element disappears. There is no problem in this issue with other editors (like JCE)

if you add a empty space after the <img />-element, <p><img />&nbsp;</p> its not working:
If you Add a empty space before img-element <p>&nbsp;<img /></p> its wokring. p-element remains in ark-editor.

But I don't want to have an empty space before the picture, so I guess strongly, its a missing feature or a bug.

Hi leina2007

Thank you for your post.

Can you tell us, if you are using inline mode?

Kindest Regards,

Louisa

Hi Louisa,

sorry, I am not familiar with inline mode. I think no. I am editing in the backend of joomla in source-mode.

great greetings!

Hi Leina,

The rule for adding P tags around images is not applicable when it comes to inline editing. The P tags is added beacuse in replace mode editing you will be editing your article in an iframe and the rule is that HTML tags such as IMG outermost parent must be a block element before you get to the body. However, this is not the case in  inline editing where the outermost conatiner will be a block element.

Editors such as JCK Editor and JCE do not do inline editing and beacuse of this will always add a P tag around images. However, in our case for consistency to make editing articles the same when in inline or standard replace mode we now omit P tags around images acrosss the board.

However, if you want this behaviour you can do this by disabling the Paragraph Data Processor arkeditor plugin in Joomla.

Kindest Regards,
