The behaviour seen occurs on localhost 'bitnami' joomla stacks, and also on Siteground hosted web sites.

Ark Media Manager makes RokGallery and RokSprocket almost unusable.

I have not tried uninstalling AMM, editing RG modules, and then re-installing AMM wink_smile.png

Steps to replicate the issue
1) Install RokGallery module (it is a free joomla extension available from RocketTheme). 2) Install Ark Manager, and use it to install Ark Media Manager. 3) Go to Modules and click 'New' to create a new RokGallery module. You will see that the 'Gallery Layout' does not have a picklist of options. As soon as you uninstall the Media Manager, the RokGallery module works correctly.

Hi Brian,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. There is indeed a conflict between Ark Media & rocket theme modules. On configuration pages that have media fields the Ark Media loads into the field, which the RokGallery module has at the bottom of the parameters ('Select a Background-Image'). other locations include article "intro image" parameters etc. Ark Media then loads its own form configuration for setup purposes, and it's at this point that the conflict occurs. Basically, Joomla doesn't appear to separate the two form's fields apart, hence the conflict.

This isn't any one extension's fault as Joomla should really be keeping the two forms separate, but it doesn't, so this will be marked as a Known Issue. We will raise the issue with Joomla to see what they say but it this issue is unlikely to be fixed any time soon.

The quickest workaround would be to disable the "Content - Ark Media - Media Field" plugin in the Plugin Manager. This means that your Rocket Theme modules will start working again. However, all media fields will revert to Joomla's default media manager in places like the banner items & article 'intro image' fields, which if you don't use that often may be a satisfactory workaround for now. The editor & standalone Ark Media pages will be unaffected by this plugin.

Hi Brian,

We've now posting a request to Joomla to see if they will fix the root of the issue. Until then we have also updated the Ark Media content plugin to allow you to omit the plugin from loading up in the RokGallery modules which will save you disabling it completely.

The fix will be included in the next release of the Ark Media. Please also find the patched plugin attached to this ticket for you to install so you don't have to wait for the next release. Please install it as you would any normal Joomla plugin. Then, in the plugin's ("Content - Ark Media - Media Field") parameters you can select the "mod_rokgallery" etc modules to omit the Ark Media from loading in that module's parameter page.

Hopefully that proves to be a better solution for you.

Let us know if you need help setting up the fix.

Our ticketing system doesn't support zip files so if you email we'll send you the plugin. Or add your site details to your account and we'll install and configure it for you.

To do this go to 'Client Area' > 'Edit Account Details', then 'Site Details', where you can fill in your site details.

Hi Brian,

We have emailed you the plugin to help workaround the issue.

Since we last spoke we have liaised with the Joomla development team about future ways to avoid this conflict and they have suggested a fix that we could implement to prevent this from occuring in with other extensions. This is quite a comprehensive change so we won't be able to patch the offending plugin, quick-fix style. As such the full fix to this issue will be included in the next release (releases after version 1.10.1).

Hi Brian,

We have re-sent the email to you with the plugin again. Let us know if you have any problems and we'll install it on your site for you if you would prefer.
