Hi Marc,

Thank you for your ticket.

Could you confirm some of the following please:

  • The name of the file is that you are uploading, aka are there any special charaters/spaces/odd file extensions in the name,
  • The mp3's file size is under the "max upload" threshold that your server can handle. (The limit can be found in the Ark Media's configuration),
  • There are no other Javascript errors on the page before uploading the file,

We have just tested with a 49.60MB File which uploaded successfully to a server that accepts 100MB files. So if any of the above points don't help we may need to access your site to perform some tests on your system. If you are happy for us to run some tests could you add your site details to your user profile under "Client Area".

Looks like this one's on me.  It finally occurred to me to check the PHP setting of the host.   Sure enough they were too small.  Needed to up max-upload post_max_size and memory configs.  Works ok on the mp3, however does not accept m4a (doesn't display files uploaded by FTP and uploading with Media manager errors out as unsupported type.

Hi Marc,

Glad we could help.

With regards to the .m4a format, this is most likely because it has not been added to the list of supported audio formats. The .m4a format currently doesn't appear on the list of default supported audios formats, so will need to be manually added. Support for the .m4a format has been added to the next version which we hope to release soon. Until then you can add support for a custom file type using the Ark Media's "Custom Allowed File Types" parameter using the file type: "m4a" and the mime type: "audio/mp4".
